Dr. Michael J. Mundenar was born and raised in Pittston, Pennsylvania a small town in northeastern Pennsylvania. He graduated from Pittston Area High School in 1976 and attended the University of Pittsburgh graduating Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology in 1980. He subsequently attended the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine and achieved the Doctor of Dental Medicine degree in 1984.
Dr. Mundenar then completed a general practice residency at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, in Philadelphia Pennsylvania from 1984-1985. He then spent the next year working as a general dentist in northeastern Pennsylvania prior to beginning his oral and maxillofacial surgery residency. Dr. Mundenar returned to Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in 1986 for his oral and maxillofacial surgery residency which was completed in 1990.
Dr. Mundenar is a member of the American Dental Association, American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, the Academy of Osseointegration and the American Dental Society of Anesthesiology. He has been on the Executive Board of the Delaware Valley Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and has served as Program Chairman, Treasurer and President in 2008
He is a diplomat of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and the National Board of Dental Anesthesia. He is also a member of OKU National Dental Honor Society.
He is a volunteer faculty staff member at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital and is attending staff at St. Mary Medical Center, Langhorne, Pennsylvania.
Dr. Mundenar maintains an oral and maxillofacial surgery practice in Yardley, Pennsylvania with special emphasis on dental implants. Dr. Mundenar lives in Yardley with his wife and three daughters. His recreational interests include golf, skiing, fitness and travel.
